(Scroll down for English)

Waarnemers (observers) vervul ‘n ander funksie as moniteerders (monitors).

As jy:

  • ouer as 18 is
  • oor vervoer beskik

is jy ‘n geskikte kandidaat.

Stuur dan so gou as moontlik jou:

  • Volle naam en van
  • ID no
  • selfoonnommer
  • adres
  • eposadres
  • motor registrasienommer

Ns.

Opportunity to act as an observer during the upcoming election

The leadership of the Dutch Reformed Church in SA, the Uniting Reformed Church in South Africa (Cape Region) and the Center for Public Witness would like to encourage members to register as observers for the upcoming election.

Observers fulfil a different function than monitors. It is an easier function, but equally important because it increases the visibility of churches and civil society at the polls.

Observers will receive brief training, a “bib” (to make you visible) and access to all polling stations where a register must be signed. If required, a short report can be written afterwards.

We launch this project in collaboration with the South African Council of Churches (Western Cape) and the South African Democracy Election network. It is accredited by the IEC.

If you…:

  • are older than 18
  • have transport available
  • have a smartphone
  • are available for a brief training session in May
  • commit to impartiality
  • would like to expand and strengthen democracy in our country

…you are a suitable candidate.

Please send the following information to Danelle at spg@kaapkerk.co.za as soon as possible:

  • Full name and surname
  • ID number
  • Mobile number
  • Address
  • E-mail address
  • Car registration number

P.S. It would be great if we could get an official observer from the church in every town. It will be even better if a DRC member and URCSA member can do it together.

Kind regards
