You are cordially invited to the XIII. International Bonhoeffer Congress that will be held from
19–23 January 2020 in Stellenbosch, South Africa on the theme:
How is the coming generation to go on living?
Bonhoeffer and the response to our present crisis and hope.
Plenary speakers who already confirmed their participation include Wolfgang Huber, Terry Lovat,
Nadia Marais, Pumla Goboda-Madikizela, Teddy Sakupapa and Reggie Williams.
The congress will be hosted by the Faculty of Theology and the Beyers Naudé Centre for
Public Theology at Stellenbosch University, in partnership with the Department of Religion and Theology at the University of the Western Cape.
A call for papers, information about the plenary speakers, a pre-congress colloquium for graduate students, a registration form, and suggestions for accommodation are attached and available on the congress website: www.sun.ac.za/bonhoeffer2020
The congress will be held at the Faculty of Theology, 171 Dorp Street, Stellenbosch, except for the Wednesday morning session (22 January) that will take place at the University of the Western Cape. This will be followed by an excursion to Cape Town, and a reception.
